Bought by us in 2019 and completely refurbished in 2020, our latest “baby” has proved immensely popular with new and returning guests. Here are some of the reasons why:
- The location at the foot of the Deepdale Valley is idyllic: south-easterly views over fields of grazing Herdwick sheep towards Angle Tarn Pikes and Grey Crag.
2. The interior design is inspired by the Lake District seasons.
Upstairs, the living/dining/kitchen has the fresh colours of Spring: A vibrant green mid-century style sofa from Heals ; warm golden colours of the oak beams & floor; soft daffodil yellow tones of the handprinted fabric used on the cushions and blinds.
In the downstairs bedroom the inspiration is late autumn/winter; with deep burnt oranges as an accent to the graphite and parchment tones of the Cole&Son wallpaper and herdwick wool curtain . The superking bed is upholstered in a lovely off-white washed linen – the colour of the sky on a misty autumn day. Guests will sleep with their heads in the clouds with Cole and Son Nuovolette wallpaper!
The bathroom has wood effect porcelain tiles on the walls and floor and features a V&A freestanding bath with Duravit sanitaryware. The large shower has a rainfall head plus a seperate handset for those who don’t want to get their hair (or hare 😊) wet.
