We are busy refurbishing our latest property ready for this Spring and are overwhelmed by the interest that we are getting from guests. So we are sharing a few photos to give a taste of what is to come.
- The location at the foot of the Deepdale Valley is idyllic: south-easterly views over fields of grazing Herdwick sheep towards Angle Tarn Pikes and Grey Crag.
2. The interior design is inspired by the Lake District seasons.
Upstairs, the living/dining/kitchen has the fresh colours of Spring: A vibrant green mid-century style sofa from Heals ; warm golden colours of the oak beams & floor; soft daffodil yellow tones of the handprinted fabric used on the cushions and blinds.
In the downstairs bedroom the inspiration is late autumn/winter; with deep burnt oranges as an accent to the graphite and parchment tones of the Cole&Son wallpaper and herdwick wool curtain . The superking bed is upholstered in a lovely off-white washed linen – the colour of the sky on a misty autumn day. Guests will sleep with their heads in the clouds with Cole and Son Nuovolette wallpaper!
The bathroom has wood effect porcelain tiles on the walls and floor and features a V&A freestanding bath with Duravit sanitaryware. The large shower has a rainfall head plus a seperate handset for those who don’t want to get their hair (or hare 😊) wet.
Since lockdown we have been busy finessing the cottage. All external woodwork is being replaced and painted a soft blue-green. Windows and doors repainted. Handrails added on external steps to front door. New unit added in the kitchen to provide additional storage. Glass splashback with Cole aand Son wallpaper in the kitchen. New cushions (made by Helen) for the sofa and the bed. A new mid-century style oak tv unit and contemporary danish rug…..plus much more. We will add more photos as each room comes together.
