A Ramble to the Angle

Our favourite walk from the door is to Angle Tarn, probably the most beautiful mountain tarn in the Lake District. The walk starts with a steady climb up to Boredale Hause (a Hause is a meeting of paths) and then a short section takes you to a beautiful path which clings along the side of the fells leading to Angle Tarn Pikes before cutting in just below their summit to the tarn itself. Fab for a summer swim in its peaty waters or for a picnic. The onwards below Satura Crag and head for the Knott before taking a zig zag path down to Hayeswater (another favourite path). Then a simple descent down the old water board track to Hartsop and back along the old back lonning to Deepdale. 11km and allow 4 hours.
