Deepdale is a breathtakingly beautiful valley that runs from outside the cottages for 2 miles before steeply ascending the northern face of Fairfield. It has a burbling beck running its length, an ancient stone bridge and many lovely picnic spots.
Ullswater, the second largest lake is just a mile away and perfect for a morning dip or stroll along sections of the Ullswater Way

Explore artisan food producers throughout the Lake District, including Lovingly Artisan for real bread, Ginger Bakers for cakes, Rinaldo’s for coffee, Low Sizergh Barn for great food, and Cranston’s for local butchery and deli. nearest major supermarket is Booths in Windermere, 10 miles away.

Townend House Troutbeck. A simply glorious old Lakeland farmhouse owned by the National Trust
The Lakeland Horticultural Society gardens near Windermere. Lovingly tended by volunteers – a gardeners delight.
The Windermere Jetty Museum – Stories of boats & their owners in a striking contemporary building on the lakeshore. Good café.
Leven’s Hall – the topiary gardens are the oldest in the world – you are transported back to Tudor times . Great café too.
