The Lakes wove its magic from our very first visit and we never wanted to leave…this place became part of us, and the threads of the landscape formed the tapestry of our lives.

It took many years before we found the perfect spot to live: central, but not busy….peaceful, but not too remote, and we found it at the foot of the little explored Deepdale Valley just a mile outside Patterdale.

First we painstaking restored Stone Cottage and later added Hares Garth and our own home…all on the same ancient farm steading of Lane Head.
